Our Fabric Dye is the perfect solution for transforming and restoring colour to natural fabric items. Designed for easy home use, this professional grade formula allows you to refresh faded furniture, recolour sofas or customise clothing and shoes. Formulated by The Scratch Doctor, it delivers reliable results without altering the feel of the fabric.

This versatile dye works deep within natural fabric fibres to restore original colour or create a bold new look. Ideal as a fabric dye for sofas and upholstery, it rejuvenates tired furniture while remaining soft, breathable and natural to the touch once cured. The non toxic formula is safe and simple to use, making it suitable for a wide range of home projects.

For best results, simply clean the fabric thoroughly, apply the dye neat directly onto the surface and once fully dry, seal the finish with a fabric protector. This process ensures even coverage, strong colour adhesion and long lasting durability while helping to prevent rub off or transfer once cured.

Available in 24 colours, our Fabric Dye can be applied by spraying, dabbing or brushing directly onto 100% natural fabrics. For bespoke projects, our Colour Matching Service allows you to create custom shades tailored to your needs. PLEASE NOTE: Always test on an inconspicuous area before use. Fully read and understand the instructions provided before use. We highly recommend that the colour you are dyeing to is darker than the original colour. This product is for use on 100% natural fabrics only and will not be suitable for any synthetic or hybrid materials. Not suitable for use on Suede, Nubuck, Heavy Patterned Fabric, Velour or Velvet. Do not use on items with a waterproof or fireproof coating.

How to apply Fabric Dye

Step 1

Clean the surface thoroughly with our Fabric Cleaner and allow to dry. When ready to dye, gently dampen the fabric with cold water before applying the dye.

Step 2

Apply the Fabric Dye using a paint brush, sponge or by spray. Allow the item to dry for at least 1 hour between coats. Gently brush with a soft bristle brush between coats to prevent fibres from drying and sticking together.

Step 3

Allow the fabric to fully dry for at least 72 hours. Once dry, apply our Fabric Protector for waterproofing and colour preservation.
